Hacker Books

Working with group of Hackers “ethical and creative tech wizards” we set about creating a simple brand for Hacker books, a Logo, Video intro and the design for 24 diffrent book covers, based on the rainbow books from hacker lore

Solutions

The initial logo combines the symbol favored by the fictional hackers from the movie Hackers (1995) and real world hackers from palm beach florida in 1980s, of the pirate smiley, we redesigned it and add an element of 8-bit variety again in refrence to the tech-pop aspect of the subculture

we designed a basic website, that could be expanded when the clients where ready to expand their library and book releases in future, as well as a custom badge/logo combo for each individual book starting with the apple hackintosh skull and crossbones logo for “the white book”.

We took various photos to compliment the book, the website and of course the promotional video, as well as customised various backgrounds at the request of their fans.
